Upcoming Local Serving Opportunities
We host “River City Serves” every 3rd Saturday of the month as a way of serving and sharing the gospel with those in need in our own community and in the communities around us. We also have ongoing partnerships with local outreach organizations in our city to bring about change. We’d love to have you join us!
Monthly Local Mission Opportunities
Every 3rd Saturday
Mission:
- Neighborhood Clean-up – Provide a nice spring cleaning in common areas, streets, and yards– trash pickup, weed trimming, and mowing.
- Food Pantry – Distribute food to residents; and pray for those who ask.
- Serve Lunch – Serve food pantry guests, residents, and volunteers.
Where:

Time:
- 9:30am – 10:15am – Outdoor Service (Optional for Food Pantry Guests)
- 10:00am – 12:00pm – Neighborhood Clean-up
- 12:00pm – 12:30pm – Lunch
Volunteers Needed: 45 max.
Age Minimum: Children welcome with a parent/adult

- Package and/or distribute groceries for families in need
- Minister to people by praying in a supportive environment.

Meet at Concession 2 Building, behind the amphitheater
Time: 8:30 – 10:30 am
Volunteers Needed: 20 max.
Age Minimum: Children 8 years and up are welcome with a parent/adult
Every 2nd Saturday
Mission: Strong Foundation assists homeless families by providing a safe place to live and educating parents to get back on their feet. This team exists to help expand and upkeep their facilities so Strong Foundation can continue their mission in a well kept environment.

Time: 8:00am – 12:00pm
Volunteers Needed: Men, No Max.
Age Minimum: Children are welcome to accompany an adult
Other Service Opportunities
“Love Where You Live” – Schertz , is a faith-based non-profit serving the Schertz, Cibolo, Selma, and Garden Ridge areas. Their mission is to show the love of Jesus Christ by meeting practical needs in our community—providing home repairs, maintenance, and assistance to widows, the elderly, disabled individuals, veterans, and those experiencing poverty. By partnering with churches like ours and other volunteers, LWYL Schertz connects people to serve as the hands and feet of Christ right here, where we live.
When: April 18th (this opportunity is available twice a year)
Time: 8am – 12pm
Volunteers Needed: 50 max
Age Minimum: Children are welcome with a parent/adult
Mission: Crochet clean plastic bags into mats that are distributed to the homeless.
Please bring a size P crochet hook. Don’t know how to do it? We’ll show you!

The Pregnancy Care Center provides compassionate care and practical help to empower women to choose life-affirming options for their pregnancies. On-going opportunities for volunteer service including program mentors and class facilitators, client advocates, layette advocates, data entry, nurse advocates and sonographers, and material aid organizers.

NO STRINGS ATTACHED / UNTETHERED MINISTRIES
No Strings Attached is a program under Untethered Ministries. This nonprofit ministry organization walks alongside women and children who have been sexually exploited as they go through their journey of recovery. NSA provides intervention, prevention, and aftercare.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Donate needed items
- Bake cookies
- Write Love Notes for Gift Bags
- Assist with trauma counseling
- Join the NSA monthly outing team (to strip clubs)
- Become a Prayer Partner

Any Woman Can is a non-profit Health Center that offers FREE services to people that are in crisis. Our team helps educate, counsel and test. So that those in crisis will experience a comeback. Any Woman Can’s counselors, nurses, and client advocates walk alongside women in crisis by offering FREE Counseling, FREE Ultrasounds, FREE STI testing and FREE Pregnancy testing.
