Membership at River City
Maybe it's time to become a member!
We believe God has called ALL believers to be a committed and active part of their local body of believers, the Church, where they can be known, loved, and equipped for real life in Jesus Christ! We carry out this call through church membership.
"Re-Up" YOUR Membership

Why is Church Membership Important?
- Unity and community: The Bible emphasizes the importance of believers gathering together regularly (Hebrews 10:24-25). This provides a structured way to be part of a community of faith.
- Spiritual growth: Being part of a church family allows Christians to learn from teaching, encourage one another, and grow in their faith (Ephesians 4:11-16).
- Accountability: Church membership often involves submitting to spiritual leadership and being accountable to fellow believers (Hebrews 13:17).
- Service and using spiritual gifts: The church is a body with many parts, each serving an important purpose (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). Members are encouraged, enabled, and equipped to use their gifts to serve the church community.
- Support and care: God calls us to care for one another, both spiritually and practically (Galatians 6:2, James 5:14-16).
- Representation of Christ’s bride: The church is the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:25-27), and membership signifies being part of this larger spiritual relationship.
- Discipline and restoration: Church membership provides a framework for biblical discipline and restoration when necessary (Matthew 18:15-17, 1 Corinthians 5:1-5).
