Hands & Feet Local

The goal of Hands & Feet is to demonstrate the love of Jesus by regularly serving people in need in San Antonio
and surrounding areas. River City volunteers join together on the 3rd Saturday of every month and for special projects throughout the year, to serve alongside local charities, organizations, and ministries who have demonstrated
a real commitment to helping those in need.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTIONS

Haven for Hope (Feeding the Homeless)
1 Haven for Hope, San Antonio, TX 78207
Time:  11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Project: Assemble food trays and serve drinks in the kitchen of  SVDP, and mingle, minister, and pray with the homeless residents of the PCY at Haven for Hope. Must wear hat, conservative dress (no short pants or sleeveless tops), and closed-toe shoes.

Strong Foundation

Time: 9:30 am – 1:00 pm
Project: Providing breakfast for children while parents take self-improvement classes on Saturday morning. This is followed by time on the playground interacting and offering love and care with the children. There will also be some light landscaping and organizing projects. We’ll finish the morning by cooking and serving a hotdog lunch.

AIDS Foundation

Project: Serving food and talking to and sharing God’s message with residents while they eat in the cafeteria.

Christian Assistance Ministry

Windy Meadows Neighborhood Outreach

Project: Serve the Window Meadows Mobile Home Community by serving food, playing games and building relationships with children and families. Meet at the park for set-up.

Real Life Kids Camp
June 19th – 23rd
In one of San Antonio’s most challenging neighborhoods, Alazan-Apache Courts, VIlla Veramendi Apartments,
and Cassiano Homes Alazan-Apache Courts, is the largest housing project in the city with over 50% of its population under the age of 18.
These communities also deals with the highest single-parent home rate, crime, and gang violence. Children in this environment face many challenges.
This is the group of children Real Life Kids Camp is working with. RLKC will provide a one-week camp for approximately 40 children, ages 7-11.
