River City University


River City University is the adult education ministry offered at River City Community Church. Classes and groups are designed to help you grow spiritually and make Biblical life choices so you can experience the real, abundant life that God has for you. Classes are organized in six learning tracks.

Knowing God Series

Learn the basic practices that will help you grow into Christ-likeness. You will be equipped with the skills you need to turn these skills into habits.

This class will help you know God as He truly is and will answer the critical questions you have about the Christian faith. You will learn timeless Biblical truths that will help you lay a solid foundation for your life.

KNOW HOW TO PRAY: Effective Powerful Prayer
God loves the sound of your voice.  He not only wants to answer your prayers, but answer them in specific, amazing ways.  Learn how to pray earnest, heartfelt prayers that make great power available.

KNOW YOUR IDENTITY Who You are in Christ 
What is your identity? How do you see yourself? As a follower of Christ, it is important to know how God sees you and what He says about you as His child. It is critical to understand what God has already provided for you through Christ. Come and learn your true identity in Christ.

Fall 2018 Bible Studies

Women’s Bible Study – Jonah

They shock us; they shake us; they compel us to change. You can’t escape life’s interruptions, but you can change your perspective on them. Dive into the study of Jonah and discover that what you see as an interruption may truly be God’s divine invitation to a life much bigger than you can imagine.

This class, will help you learn how to activate and increase your faith, eliminate fear, deal with offenses, stay right with God even when you’re not “feeling it”, have victory over feelings, have faith in the midst of doubt, and learn how to change your attitude and guard your thoughts.

Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God will open your eyes to see God working all around you as never before. God is always working, and He invites you to join Him. God has used this study to touch and change millions of lives and thousands of churches around the world.

This course was designed to help men live an authentic manhood by coming together and strengthening each other through weekly sessions that combine biblical teaching and small group interaction.
This class offers a clear definition of what a man is and challenges each man to
develop his own personalized manhood plan.

The Book of I Timothy
A verse by verse study of the book of I Timothy. In this Pastoral Epistle, Paul instructs young Timothy who is overseeing the Ephesian church and gives him practical teaching on leadership and godly living.

The Books of 1st and 2nd Peter
A verse by verse study of the Epistles of I and II Peter. For centuries these books have helped believers grow in their knowledge of Christ. It has given them hope to stand strong through persecution and suffering in an unjust world, and discern truth from false teaching.

Marriage & Family

Re|engage offers hope to marriages and moves couples towards oneness through understanding God’s design for marriage, hearing personal stories of restoration, through biblical teaching, and small group interaction. Here is a safe place to reconnect, reignite, or resurrect your marriage.

Calling all Mom’s of young children!! We know that Motherhood is the most important job and one of the hardest! As young mother’s it’s important that we have mature and experienced mother’s to help guide, encourage, and speak into our lives on this journey. Join us as we glean wisdom from amazing guest speakers, make new friends, and join forces in raising Godly children!

Manhood Journey
Manhood Journey is a small group program with fathers and sons participating together. It is a bible-based approach to building young men through the discipleship and mentorship of their own father. It features guided biblical discussion with hand-on, interactive workshops. Ideal for fathers with sons ages 8-15.

Support & Recovery

A friendly, caring group of people who understand what you are going through and want to help. This class shares principles that will help you on your journey towards recovery and give you hope for the future.

Old Testament Survey (PL121)

How is the Bible like an onion? To find out, join us in studying the literature, historical background, geography and significance of the books of the Old Testament. When you learn to bridge the gap from original meaning to the contemporary significance of God’s revelation of Himself, you’ll discover that the Bible is not primarily about history, but about God.
