2017 Bible Reading Plan 2017-07-01T20:27:14+00:00

Join us as we read through the Bible together as a congregation in 2017-2018. We will be going through a Two Year Bible Reading Plan. With this plan, you will read 2 chapters per day – one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament or Psalms. This plan will take you through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice over a two-year period. Our goal is not to simply get through the Bible, but to truly hear God speak through His word.

We want to encourage you not to hurry. God speaks in a still, small voice, but He is speaking. Take your time and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. God’s word will shine a light on your life, and will empower, equip, and encourage you for what each day brings. (Hebrews 4:12; II Timothy 3:16-17) As a church let’s R.E.A.P. a harvest from God’s word and grow closer to Him. The R.E.A.P. process is a good approach to study the scriptures.

ead : Read the passage of scripture for the day. What is God saying to the people in the passage? What is the context? What does it mean? What do you find meaningful?

E xamine : What are your thoughts on the passage? Write down a summary of what you have examined. Put it in your own words.

A pply : In light of this scripture, what does God want you to believe, and do? How does it apply to your work, marriage, parenting, finances, relationships, etc…? What will you need to change in how you believe or think? Write down what God is asking you to apply.

P ray : Write a prayer based on what you’ve learned and heard from God. If needed, repent and ask for forgiveness. Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and enable you to work the truth you have learned into your life.
